For immediate release – EMITE has made another big step forward in 5G OTA testing by releasing a unique fully-automated feed antenna carrousel for standardized 3GPP 38.141 5G gNodeB OTA testing using a 1.8m Compaq Antenna Test Range (CATR) in the EMITE F100 anechoic chamber. The novel antenna carrousel is capable of providing fully automated measurements for the frequency range from 1 to 220 GHz, and for both vertical and horizontal polarizations. With an embedded mmWave hardware module, several antennas are rotated to the CATR focal point position, and when in combination of automated Vector Signal Analyzer (VSA) and Vector Signal Generator (VSG) test algorithms the user saves several days of manual changes. With full support for chapters 6 and 7 of 3GPP TS 38.141, the novel antenna feed carrousel brings automation to un unheard-of level in gNodeB OTA testing. Several RF paths with different signal levels, in combination to mmWave oscillators, switches, amplifiers, multipliers, mixers and combiners, set the pace for world-wide first OTA tests up to 220 GHz with the push of a button. The system is currently in use at two customer sites, leading manufacturers of gNodeB. The EMITE-unique fully-automated Graphic User Interface (GUI) software suite allows testing of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in chapters 6 and 7 of 3GPP TS. 38.521-1/2/3. The novel antenna carrousel can be combined to a barbeque-type DUT positioner, allowing automated loading-unloading of very heavy gNodeBs at the chamber flushed entrance. The automation is also capable of operating overnight without human supervision.
For immediate release – EMITE is proud to announce another big step forward in WLAN OTA testing by providing full support to the new Wi-Fi6E frequency band for the 802.11ax standard on its E-, I- and F-Series Test Platforms, becoming a worldwide-first to provide fully-automated TCP/UDP/FTP MIMO OTA Throughput testing as well as SISO TRP/TIS OTA testing capabilities for the new Wi-Fi band. The market is currently eagerly expecting the deployment of WiFi6E, with OEMs announcements of the first Wi-Fi6E-compatible routers, Access Points and devices within 2021. An additional chuck of 1200 MHz in the new 6 GHz frequency band provides over 200% of channel capacity increase, and devices with Wi-Fi6E-compatible radios will benefit from a less crowded spectrum band with enhanced features. The new band is also expected to bring an expansion push for wireless Internet of Things. The EMITE-unique monitoring of device temperature, battery level, modulation analyses and PHY Throughput in real-time measurements is also available for the new release in Wi-Fi6E.
For immediate release – Anritsu and EMITE are proud to announce their latest combined solution for testing video streaming performance on IEEE 802.11ac standard. Anritsu Wireless Connectivity Test Set MT8862A, has been successfully integrated in combination to the EMITE E600 and I60 Reverberation Chambers to perform HTTP Adaptative Streaming (HAS) performance testing. This new solution provides a powerful tool for video streaming service providers to test the performance of video streaming protocols in a realistic conducted or Over-The-Air environment, allowing the capability to optimize the video streaming efficiency and quality in reduced data throughput scenarios or optimizing bandwidth requirements for high quality video signals. In the forthcoming generation of mobile communications bandwidth optimization will be of uttermost importance due to the increasing demand of data and video services, this solution will help service providers to analyze in detail the data transmission quality and to analyze possible improvements in the actual streaming protocols.
